Mission Statement
To create a vibrant and sustainable musical and dance culture informed by the Reggae, Dancehall, Soca and Afrobeats by providing a platform for both established and new artists to showcase their works and enhancing their skills and talents. To create, promote, curate, showcase, and renew Reggae, Soca, Afrobeats, Hi-Life, and other Global African musical and artistic performances to promote music and dance from an Afro-Caribbean perspective within the Canadian and Global Contexts. To develop, support, and promote Canadian young talents in music, dance and other artistic performances in the Reggae, Soca, Afrobeats, Hi-life, and other genres. To showcase Reggae, Soca, Afrobeats, Hi-life and other global African music and dance to local, national and international audiences. To create and develop new forms of Reggae, Soca, Afrobeats, Hi-life and other global African music, mixing different musical genres from Africa, the Americas and all of the African diaspora. To hold conferences, workshops, teach-ins, and other platforms to teach, learn, promote the Reggae, Soca, Hi-Life, Afrobeats, and other Global Africa musical genres and artistic expressions and performances. To undertake fundraising projects, scholarships, and other charitable ventures to support vulnerable and marginalized individuals and groups in Canada and the African Diaspora. To teach and share African and Afro-Caribbean history, traditional values, and ethics through music and artistic performances. To cater to all and diverse audiences that reflect the multicultural mosaic of Canada, irrespective of race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality/sexual orientation, religion, class or ability/disability. To foster inter-cultural understanding and unity by breaking down, dissolving and eliminating harmful racial/ethnic stereotypes.
